Fox Searchlight Buys Gideon Raff Pitch On Rescue Of Ethiopian Jews To Israel
BREAKING: Fox Searchlight has acquired Operation Brothers, a pitch that Tyrant exec producer and co-creator Gideon Raff will write and direct about the 1981 rescue of Ethiopian Jews and their relocation to Israel. Alexandra Milchan will produce with Raff. The story has overtones that have it compared to Argo meets Hotel Rwanda. Raff separately set up Turn Of Mind with Gail Berman at Fox 2000 based on the Alice LaPlante book, and he’s attached to produce and direct. Raff has done strong work in television on Homeland, Tyrant and Dig, and that always creates heat in the feature world. He is repped by WME and Stone, Meyer, Genow.
