    Frankenmuth Brewery Promotes Michigan Breweries With Fun, Informative Infographic

    While most of the country knows Michigan as the Great Lakes State, craft beer enthusiasts statewide consider their home the Great Beer State -- and with good reason. With nearly 100 Michigan breweries operating in 2010, the state ranks fifth in the nation in overall breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs.


    Founded in 1862, Frankenmuth Brewery is the oldest of any breweries in Michigan, boasting the title of Michigan's original craft beer. For example, in 2010 Michigan breweries contributed more than $24 million in wages to the local economy, with a total economic contribution of more than $133 million. And on the consumer end, Michigan craft beer sales have skyrocketed from $11.2 million to $22 million in the last five years.


    With craft beer production and sales at their highest points throughout the state, Frankenmuth Brewery's portrait of one of Michigan's most booming industries is as timely as it is informative.
