Full House: Top 10 Characters

It has been a really long time since Full House went off the air in 1995.

On February 26th, we will get to go back to that little San Francisco house, as Netflix is bringing us Fuller House, a continuation of the original series, this time focused on DJ and her life as a widowed mother- a parallel to the initial story line.

In anticipation of the return of one of the most wholesome families of TGIF, we’ll take a look at the 10 most memorable characters from Full House.

10. Nicky and Alex Katsopolis

Nicky and Alex would probably be considered the forgotten twins on the show, as they didn’t come around until much later, after Becky and Jesse were married, and living in the attic of the…well, full house. Once the Olsen twins started growing up, it was up to these new kids to fill in the cuteness void, and they did so reasonably well. Their most memorable moment would surely be their first haircut, much against the will of their hair-loving father.

9. Michelle Tanner

From super cute baby to super cute toddler and onward, Michelle Tanner was able to make even the most stalwart viewer go a little baby crazy. While she never really did that much on the show, it would be hard to forget the little munchkin saying, “You got it, dude,” or the bond that she held with Uncle Jesse. The pink bunny story when Jesse is looking to move out is a heart-wrencher.

8. Stephanie Tanner

Stephanie was your typical middle child: always seeking her place, and always seeking attention. She often struggled in the shadow of her older sister DJ, and she never had the cuteness factor of the baby. But she did have a catch phrase, as did so many of the characters of the show. If you have ever seen Full House, surely you can mimic her repeated line, “How rude!”

7. Uncle Joey

So many catchphrases…Uncle Joey was a friend of Danny’s who came to help when Danny’s wife died, and he was a good person through and through. A stand-up comedian, Joey did his best to bring G-rated laughs to the show each episode, as he was a goofy adult who never truly wanted to grow up.

6. Steve

Steve, boyfriend of DJ, managed to become a part of the family as the show progressed. Always funny, the bumbling jock endeared himself to viewers as his relationship with DJ solidified itself over the years. Dumb jock or not, Steve had a heart of gold.

5. Kimmy Gibbler

Annoying neighbor, virtual stalker of Uncle Jesse, continuous punchline…Kimmy Gibbler added it all to the show. She was always there with a sarcastic line, and managed to continually add mayhem to the already busy Tanner household.

4. Danny Tanner

The mega-wholesome Danny Tanner (ironically, given the hilarious, and filthy, stand-up comedy provided by Bob Saget) was the head of the family who had to call in help after the sad passing of his wife. Along with his two best friends, they did their best to bumble their way through raising three girls on their own, without much female influence. Danny struggled through life, always maintaining a positive outlook for his daughters, and raising them the best way he knew how.

3. Aunt Becky

It was tough not to love Becky Donaldson right from the very beginning. As Danny’s co-host on Wake Up San Francisco, she became the love interest of Uncle Jesse, and a mainstay on the show. She was cool, she was sweet, and she was 90′s hot. Everybody loved Becky, and the love story between her and Jesse was always fun.

2. DJ Tanner

DJ will get her turn to be the focus of the show once Fuller House hits Netflix, but as far as the initial run of the series went, DJ was one of our favorites as the oldest of the three Tanner sisters. She was the one who went through everything first, serving as a guide for her younger siblings. She was forced to grow up quickly after the death of her mother, but despite her trials and tribulations as a teenager, she had a strongly built-in moral compass that served as a guide on the show.

1. Uncle Jesse

Cool hair, cool band, cool wife, best character. It was tough to not love the former bad boy, Jesse Katsopolis. From riding his motorcycle, to playing at the Smash Club with Jesse and the Rippers, it seemed that everything Jesse did was pretty awesome. Despite his bad boy beginnings, he softened up, becoming an integral part of the loving family, eventually making one of his own. His wedding episode was legendary, as was his song that became a hit in Japan. We love Uncle Jesse.
