Gabrielle Carteris Re-Elected As EVP Of SAG-AFTRA, National VP/LA Is Clyde Kusatsu – Update

UPDATE, 8:35PM (adds national VPs):Clyde Kusatsu has been elected SAG-AFTRA’s national VP, Los Angeles, the guild announced this evening at its ongoing biennial convention at which delegates nominated and elected eight national vice presidents, including the EVP Gabrielle Carteris, whose victory was announced earlier today. Ilyssa Fradin was elected national vice president, mid-sized locals and Samantha Mathis was chosen national VP, actors/performers.

National VPs who ran unopposed were Mike Hodge, NVP New York; David Hartley-Margolin, NVP small locals; Catherine Brown, NVP broadcasters; Dan Navarro, NVP recording artists.

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director David White is scheduled to deliver his report to delegates Saturday. There will also be business sessions and afternoon panels and workshops. The convention continues through Sunday at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City.

PREVIOUSLY, 2:49PM: SAG-AFTRA has re-elected Gabrielle Carteris as Executive Vice President of the union during its second biennial national convention in Los Angeles. Her new two-year term begins immediately after topping challenger Patricia Richardson. The guild said Carteris garnered 79.3% of the votes.

Carteris, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress, was elected to her first term in 2013 after serving in various capacities on the national board. She was a part of the group that helped develop the plan to merge SAG and AFTRA and served during the transition year as national VP, Los Angeles.

More election results are expected today at the convention in Universal City.
