Galaxy S8 specs will reportedly include a 4K display
Samsung is already developing its next-gen smartphone, new rumors indicate, a Galaxy S8 that will feature high-end specs that make today's flagships look like toys. Among them ia a 4K display that would take Google’s Daydream virtual reality project to a whole new level.

Google in mid-May unveiled Daydream, its mobile-friendly VR platform. But the company said that compatible hardware would only be released later on down the road, maybe beginning sometime this fall (with new Nexus phones?). While current Android devices might not support Daydream experiences, next-gen smartphones will probably be equipped to deliver Daydream content.
One of them might be the Galaxy S8, which is supposed to arrive at some point around MWC 2017. According to reports from Asia, the device is codenamed Project Dream, which is seen as an indication that Samsung’s future flagship will tout Daydream support as a core feature.
The Galaxy S8 should pack a 4K display, a new report from MyDrivers says, which might be critical for such VR projects. Samsung has already demoed a 5.5-inch display with 4K resolution, suggesting that some of its high-end next-gen handsets might actually ship with these high-resolution screens in place.
In addition to 4K displays for mobile devices, Phone Arena reminds us that Samsung is also working on a technology called Bio Blue that is supposed to diminish the amount of blue light that Samsung’s AMOLED screens put out.
That said, we have no actual confirmation that the Galaxy S8 will have a 4K display at this point, but things should get clearer as we approach MWC 2017.
