‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 Photos: Meet the New Characters
Hot on the heels of the newly released “Game of Thrones” season five trailer, HBO has debuted 18 photos from the show’s upcoming run.
A number of new characters are featured in the stills, including Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow, an influential religious leader who will play a pivotal role in the political maneuvers going on in King’s Landing in season five; Alexander Siddig as Doran Martell, brother to Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) — who was killed in a memorable showdown with Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson) last season; and Deobia Opaeri as Areo Hotah, Doran’s personal bodyguard. Notably absent from the stills are the Sand Snakes, the illegitimate daughters of Prince Oberyn.
The final two episodes of season four are currently showing in Imax theaters across the country.
“Game of Thrones” season five premieres April 12 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
