Gas prices in RI hold steady this week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gasoline prices are holding steady in Rhode Island.

AAA Southern New England said Tuesday that the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.96, unchanged from last week.

Prices in the state are up eight cents in the past month. The current price locally is 15 cents above the national average of $3.81 a gallon.

Drivers in Rhode Island paid an average of $3.54 a gallon at this time last year.
