About the participants:
Photographers Ara Oshagan and Levon Parian and architect Vahagn Thomasian are 2015 Global Thinkers and artists of Armenian descent. Their public art project, iwitness, took over Los Angeles’s Grand Park for a month last year, featuring massive black-and-white portraits of survivors from the Armenian genocide, as well as printed snippets of survivor testimony. Oshagan and Parian have been documenting the oral histories and photographing survivors of the genocide since 1995.
