You know, of course, that since leaving presidential office in 2009, George W. Bush has spent most of his time painting portraits of Putin and dogs.

On Tuesday night, Laura Bush and Jenna Bush Hager visited the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to explain in greater detail how Bush discovered his artistic sensibilities.

"He got the app on his iPhone— the Penultimate and he drew these very funny stick figures," Laura explained.

Then Jenna jumped in: "There was actually a period where he only communicated through his 'art'."

One day, Jenna says her mother complimented George on his stick figure drawings, and the rest is American history.
