Giants place CB Ross on IR

The New York Giants placed cornerback Aaron Ross on injured reserve Saturday because of a back injury and cut offensive lineman Dallas Reynolds.

Ross started the past two games and had an interception against the Carolina Panthers. He was previously ruled out for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Giants also promoted cornerback Charles James from the practice squad and placed safety Will Hill on the active roster.

Hill was reinstated by the NFL after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. He had 30 tackles and one forced fumble last season.
