    Gibson possible witness in discrimination trial

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — A sheriff's deputy who claims he was discriminated against after arresting Mel Gibson on suspicion of drunken driving has listed the Oscar-winner as a potential witness in his upcoming trial against his department.

    Attorneys for James Mee have also listed Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca as a possible witness during the trial that will focus on whether the deputy endured discrimination because he is Jewish after Gibson's 2006 arrest.

    The deputy's attorneys claim his superiors forced him to remove references to an anti-Semitic tirade by Gibson from a report and later ostracized him.

    Neither Gibson nor Baca have not been deposed before the Feb. 14 trial.

      What a weenie! Police are suppose to have thick skin unless the person they arrest has money. Then they become a sissy and sue. "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me". I'm sure he's been called a lot worse during arrest especially from those intoxicated. Suimg over someone who files a false complaint is another matter it stays on their record. This isn't the issue GIbson was a jerk but it's still not a civil case. In this country suing is popular to make a point let the jury award him $1.00

      I still like Mel Gibson, so what if he got drunk and ranted, everyone deserves a break, I havent had a drink in ages, but I know it feels great to rant and get it out of ones system. Used to be if one got drunk an officer would send them home, back when they were peace officers and protected the public, but now you get arrested and treated like crap by the very people that you pay to protect you.

      If Mel had just screwed the cop over in life, the cop would most likely sit in the stand and as truthfully as he could put the screws back in.
