Girl Writes Christmas List in 16 Languages to Make a Point
One young girl really wants a cat for Christmas — and in case her parents didn’t understand when she asked for the pet in English, she wrote out her request out in 15 other languages as well.
Reddit user mmmel posted an image of her daughter’s Christmas list on Imgur on Saturday, and the girl only wants one thing: A cat. In 16 languages — including English, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, and German — she asks for a cuddly feline. “What language do you want me to say it in?” she writes at the bottom of her list. “Here are 16.”

The list, which has been viewed more than 2.9 million times on Imgur, inspired more than 2,000 comments on Reddit, including more than a few suggestions that mom and dad surprise the young girl with a dog instead. But the user who posted the list pointed out that the family already has two. She also added that her daughter has good reason to want a cat. “We lost both of our cats, she really misses them,” mmmel wrote. “Cat #1 ate something and it got stuck in his intestines, [we] spent over $2000 trying to save him but he died. Cat #2 ran away, it’s been about 2 months.”

Mmmel didn’t respond to Yahoo Parenting’s request for comment.
Not everyone in the family wants a new kitty, though. “Husband says he will leave if I get a cat,” mmmel wrote. Still, she seems to be siding with her daughter. “Looks like we are getting a cat. Less work than the husband,” she wrote.
