Girl Writes Hilarious Note To Parents After They Tell Her The Truth About Father Christmas
There comes a point when kids start getting suspicious about the story behind Santa Claus.
Other children at school may start putting doubts in their mind – and then the questions start coming.
Deciding what to do isn’t easy and many parents will do their best to delay the truth until another year.
Eventually, however, there comes a time for honesty.
But it’s fair to say that this young lady, Belle, didn’t appreciate her parents coming clean.
Nicki Adams, from Maryland, shared the story of her decision to tell her daughter the truth – and her brilliant reaction – on Facebook.
She explained that the “time [had] finally come”.
“Now she may never speak to us again,” she said, posting a note left by Belle.
It has since had more than 21,000 shares.
Belle wrote a diatribe – with perhaps the best pay-off ever – and slid it under her parents’ door.
“You have no idea what you just did,” she wrote. “I really tried to believe. Everyone told me it’s your parents. I can’t believe you anymore. Is the Easter bunny real, how abut the tooth fairy, huh? You just ruined a 10 year old child’s LIFE thanks.
“Nothing will make me feel better. You lied to me about something I loved. That BROKE my heart,” she said, before adding: “#MiddleFingerEmoji”
Nicki told Buzzfeed: “This letter was a snap shot in time and we thought other families could relate to the dilemma,” she said.
But at the same time, she said, a lot of people have had a pretty intense reaction to Belle’s letter. “I think we can all remember writing notes to our parents or feeling that way as a child,” she said.
