Girls Star Allison Williams: Shooting Intimate Scenes Is 'Part Of The Job'

The gritty, often uncomfortable reality of HBO's "Girls" has struck a chord with audiences, as viewers are reminded of their own cringe-worthy coming of age moments.

One of the show's most seemingly awkward scenes thus far involved series star Allison Williams getting down and dirty solo in a public restroom, but the beauty says filming the intimate scene was no big deal in the world of acting.

"It's part of the job," Allison told Billy Bush and guest co-host Lisa Rinna on Friday's Access Hollywood Live, when asked about filming the racy "Girls" scenes. "The show, I think, does a great job of encapsulating what life is like for girls in their early 20s and some of that involves less glamorous moments and more intimate ones, and I think that's really just part of what our job is -- which is portraying something that seems real and familiar to people."

Allison, daughter of "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams and wife Jane Gillan Stoddard, said her parents have actually been quite supportive of her sexy scenes and admitted it's more difficult for her to watch herself on-screen than her folks.

"They're very cool about it," she said. "I'm like, cringing, and then I open my eyes and they're all just watching like [it's no big deal]. They understand that I'm an actress."

The actress' parents' understanding nature could be put to the test if Allison - whose physical appearance resembles "Fifty Shades of Grey" heroine Anastasia Steele - were to be cast in the big screen adaptation of E L James' S&M-themed novel.

"I am reading ['Fifty Shades of Grey']," Allison admitted to Billy and Lisa. "I'm very intrigued by the book, very entertained by it.

"And I actually love riding the subway and seeing people reading their Kindles sort of surreptitiously [reading] and I'm always wondering whether or not they're reading 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in secret," she added with a smile.

However, just because she's a fan of the steamy book doesn't necessarily mean she'd strip down for the big screen.

"I'd have to read the script, but given that it's very explicit in nature, I would say that I'd leave that up to a daredevil ... we'll see," she said.

Catch Allison, alongside Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet on "Girls" - Sundays at 10:30 PM on HBO.
