Happy 236th Birthday America! In addition to all the pool parties and beach BBQs you'll be hitting, here are a few other things to check out this month too.
THE OLYMPICS ARE HERE! U-S-A! U-S-A! 26 sports, more than 10,000 athletes and millions of fans invade London for the XXX Olympic Games. Check out all the Track and Field events, tennis, soccer, basketball and my faves...gymnastics and swimming. The Summer Olympic Games air July 27 -- August 12 on NBC.
CUE THE FIREWORKS! It's an annual tradition, "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular." In addition to the nation's largest fireworks display, the special will also feature country star Kenny Chesney and Katy Perry -- the perfect choice thanks to her hit song, "Firework." Airs Wednesday night, July 4 on NBC.
ALL-ACCESS KATY PERRY More Katy coming your way. It's called "Katy Perry: Part of Me" but "Katy Perry: All of Me" is more like it. The pop superstar takes us deep into her life -- warts and all -- with her 3D concert film, which was shot during Perry's breakup with Russell Brand. The film premieres in 100 theaters July 2 before it officially opens July 5.
GRAB SOME POPCORN If big action blockbusters are more your thing, check out the final installment of the Batman Franchise, "The Dark Knight Rises." I'm not normally into this kind of movie, but the trailer looks awesome and I've got to give it up for Anne Hathaway, who looks totally fab in her skin-tight Catwoman suit. Opens July 20. For the family there is "Ice Age: Continental Drift" which hits theaters July 13.
STILL GETTING STONED The Rolling Stones turn 50 this month! Can you believe it? To celebrate, the legendary band is releasing a photo book featuring 700 shots. "The Rolling Stones: 50" will be released July 12. Still can't get no satisfaction? The revealing book, "Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger" hits stores on July 10.
