GM Stops Sale Of 2015 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia In Wake Of Goodyear Recall
General Motors spent most of 2014 juggling recalls, like the headline-grabbing "Switchgate" recall meant to repair ignition switches used in millions of GM vehicles. This year, however, one of GM's first safety actions has little to do with the company itself and everything to do with Goodyear tires installed on some of the automaker's popular SUVs.
According to Detroit News, Goodyear has identified a problem with nearly 50,000 of its Fortera HL tires. After conducting endurance tests, Goodyear says that tires manufactured between November 30, 2014 and January 10, 2015 may develop small cracks in their treads.

Of the 48,500 tires made during that window of time, 32,100 were installed on 2015 models of the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia. The remaining tires were sold in the aftermarket.
Goodyear is preparing a recall of the tires, and as a result, GM has told dealers to stop selling current models of the Enclave, Traverse, and Acadia until they confirm that the tires on those vehicles aren't part of the lot being recalled.
The good news is that Goodyear says the cracks in its tires' treads don't constitute a safety hazard. The bad news is that vehicle owners who've purchased those tires will need to take their SUVs to a dealer or Goodyear retail store and have them replaced.
