Google issues new Chromebook deals to celebrate the death of Windows XP support

The one reason you should consider buying a Chromebook over a Windows or Mac laptop

Google’s low-cost, light-duty Chromebooks have been taking schools by storm. They’re also seen as terrific options for consumers on the hunt for a cheap web browsing box. The question of whether or not Chromebooks are suitable for the workplace, however, is a topic of much debate. That certainly won’t stop Google from making a big push in the enterprise market though, and the company on Tuesday evening announced a few new deals intended to lure enterprise users over to the Chrome side.

To celebrate the death of Windows XP support, Google is now offering $100 off each Chromebook purchased through its enterprise program. And while Chrome OS doesn’t run traditional Windows or Mac apps, companies that are willing to cough up some more cash can get a total of $200 off when they purchase a Chromebook for business and VMware for Chrome OS, which is software that lets users run Windows apps in a virtual environment on Chromebooks.

Google is also offering 25% off Citrix XenApp Platinum Edition, which includes tools that will help users migrate their data from Windows XP.

The deals are good from now through June 30th, and more details can be found on Google’s enterprise blog, which is linked below in our source section.
