Google Made a Video Game to Celebrate 155th Anniversary of The Pony Express

American mail delivery service The Pony Express was founded 155 years ago this month. To celebrate the anniversary, Google created a video game you can play right now in your browser.

Head to Google.com to play the lovely little side-scrolling game, which challenges players to collect letters and avoid obstacles while riding a horse. There's also some nice galloping sound effects to enjoy.

The Pony Express, which saw horseback riders deliver mail from California to Missouri, was founded by William H. Russell, Alexander Majors, and William B. Waddell on April 3, 1860. The first letter was delivered on April 14.

"The Pony Express felt like a great game concept to us at Google," the company said on its website. "We know everyone is busy these days but the Pony Express needs YOU. And ultimately, whatever happens in life, what's more important than earning trust and respect from a horse?"
