GOP hopefuls oppose potential deficit deal

Social Security keeps getting lumped in with benefit programs like medicare and medicaid. It was not supposed to be that. Our government used the money in the program for other things and did not pay it back. It is owed to the people who put the money in.

They are not interested in paying down the debt, they are interested in lining their pockets with the austerity that will soon take what ever money you have left, away and leave you in the poor house.......get it.

I say quit giving out subsidies to the farmers and to big oil companies then do an audit to every goverment agency and goverment program to cut out waste,fraud and any uneeded programs that dont work and combined duplicate programs into one program to save money.Another thing the goverment can set conditions for big and small companies to hire people.

Even President Clinton commented that as his income rise, his tax bill fall. The politicians are rich, but the country is poor.

Hear that? Another train wreck is approaching and this one will be painful - very painful indeed.

It seems that the more tax breaks we give to job creaters, the more jobs they create.... Overseas.

The main reasons for becoming politicians are, you get power, you are above the laws that you write for others to follow, and you can spend other peoples money {taxes} by the billions and still get richer at the same time yourself, you receive benefits no one else gets, you get full retirement and benefits after just one term of several years in office, and both parties are guilty of this. It is a wonder every one in America does not become politicians, it is the "best job going"..

These nimrods still donot get it, SS contributions cannot continue to finance the general budget it has to be used to fund the SS fund now that the baby boomers want their money. They will have to raise taxes if they want to fund their pet projects.

Our legislature still CAN'T GET ANYTHING DONE, even with a SUPERCOMMITTEE WITH A DEADLINE to meet? That tells me they will NEVER ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING and that THEY HAVE TO GO!

The number one priority of the GOP is to make Obama a one term president. They stated that a couple of years ago. Fixing ANYTHING isn't their primary agenda.

It's only class warfare when the poor start standing up for themselves.

NOTHING speaks louder than reading what Republicans say about the controlling the deficit. In a nut shell the Republican position is cut SS. cut Medicare, cut Social Programs, elminate programs helping the middle class like the unemployment extensions, cut funding to keep teachers, police and firemen in their jobs. DON'T RAISE TAXES on the millionaires and billionaires who outsource jobs to slave labor counties , DON'T TAX the billionaires on Wall Street on their profits. The way I read it SCREW THE MIDDLE CLASS & POOR ONLY HELP THE RICH. Here's a question for the 90 % of us, Why do we vote against our OWN self interest??? We complain about loss of jobs, for the government to level the playing field on trade, yet we vote for Republicans who's sole purpose is to eliminate the middle class..WHY???

For all of them it's "My way or the highway". It makes amockery of democracy and the art of compromise for the common good
