This Gospel Remix Of ‘The Golden Girls’ Theme Is What You Need To Hear Today

A fan of the classic show created a praise-worthy version of "Thank you For Being a Friend," known widely as the Golden Girls theme song.

Twitter, the extra channel of entertainment in your life, has struck again in the form of sitcom fandom, gospel riffs and all around hilarity.

Twitter user and designer @FinallyAaron showed love to the classic TV show The Golden Girls by belting out a gospel version, breakdowns and all.

Aaron’s video might ring some non-church bells. Back in November, he posted a 15-second video of his version on Instagram where it went viral.

While he calls the updated version “underwhelming,” we happen to disagree.

The video was shared on Twitter by filmmaker Matthew A. Cherry (9 Rides, The Last Fall) this week with Aaron sporting a wig and praising his “friends” to the most high.

There’s been plenty of versions of Andrew Gold’s 1978 track including metal and ska, but Aaron’s is definitely a fan favorite.
