Greece: Glykos called up for Korea friendly

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — PAOK goalkeeper Panagiotis Glykos has been called up by Greece for next week's friendly against South Korea.

Coach Fernando Santos on Friday said he decided to rest first-choice 'keepers Orestis Karnezis and Michalis Sifakis as he weighs his options for the lineup he will take to Brazil, where Greece faces Japan, Colombia and Ivory Coast.

Greece plays South Korea on Wednesday in Piraeus.

Greece remains one of Europe's toughest teams to beat, with Santos losing on just four occasions in 41 matches. He was still missing valued defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos, who recently returned for Schalke following a knee operation.

On Thursday, Greece's Football Association announced that Santos will step down after the World Cup.
