A Channel AND a Disruptor

In all of the talk about Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ or “brand advocates,” engagement, and ROI, it is easy to lose track of a much bigger element of the story of social media.  Social is a true business disruptor, not just a channel for messages and conversation.  If it weren’t such a powerful disruptor, how would it be possible for a lone mommy blogger to effectively take down one of the largest meat processors in the entire US?  And, on the flip side, why have consumers reached the point where instant response from the world’s largest brands is expected?
