A guide to setting up Apple Pay on your iPhone or iPad
The rollout of the latest updates for Apple’s mobile operating system hasn’t been quite as smooth as expected, but with iOS 8.1, it looks like Apple is back on track. The biggest addition to iOS in 8.1 is Apple Pay, the company’s attempt to replace all of your credit cards, debit cards and gift cards with an easy-to-use mobile service.

So you downloaded iOS 8.1. What next? In order to help you on your way to getting rid of plastic cards once and for all, MacRumors has put together a simple guide for setting up Apple Pay.
First, head to your Passbook app. Yes, that’s the one sitting in a folder somewhere with the Compass and Newsstand apps. Once you open Passbook, you’ll see a new option for setting up Apple Pay. Click the link, type in your password and then tap ‘Add a new Credit or Debit Card.’ Once you’ve reached the Card Details menu, tap the camera icon to scan all of the information on your card. Type in the security code and wait for the system to verify your card.
