Hackers leak unreleased Sony Pictures movies after massive data heist
Hackers hit Sony Pictures last week and managed to find various assets in the studio’s network — including high-quality screener copies of various movies that haven’t even been released yet — and made them available on torrent sites well ahead of their official launch. Engadget reports,.

The list of movies stolen from Sony, and currently available online for illegal downloads, includes titles such as Annie, Fury, Mr. Turner and Still Alice. Of those, only Fury, the World War 2 blockbuster starring Brad Pitt, has hit theaters so far.
According to Engadget, Sony Pictures has been attacked by a group known as the “Guardians of Peace” (GOP), whose leader has apparently contacted many media outlets telling them the group has been the one responsible for these movies appearing on torrent sites.
The publication further adds that GOP claims it has stolen under 100 terabytes of data, which will reach the Internet in the near future. In addition to Sony movies, the hackers may have stolen plenty of other sensitive stuff, such as personal data about Sony employees, as well as details about upcoming production plans.
