Handle review

Handle enables you to easily create to-dos and reminders, as well as manage email and scheduling, all from the same app. If you have a hard time remembering or prioritizing your tasks, Handle may be the app for you.

Pros

Seamless integration: Handle integrates with your existing email accounts and calendars, allowing you not only to create to-dos, but also to turn your emails into to-dos and calendar entries with accompanying reminders.

Offers most Gmail and calendar functions: Handle also enables you to write, read, archive, and delete emails as well as create, edit, and delete calendar entries without having to enter your calendar or Gmail apps.

Easy actions: The true beauty of the software is in how quickly it helps you turn projects and events into actionable steps. Start by swiping from left to right to shift categories from To-Dos to Calendar to Inbox. With the same gesture, turn urgent emails into to-dos, reminders, or calendar entries. Put off less-important emails for reading later, archiving, or deleting by swiping in the opposite direction. Swipe up and down to adjust times, dates, and priority level for your to-dos.

More control: When you turn an email into a to-do in competing apps, you can't modify the subject line of your tasks. With Handle you can change subject lines for easy reference later.

Contextual reminders: The Contextual Reminder feature is very handy, as it reminds you to complete to-do items based on your location instead of a set time. For example, setting yourself a reminder to buy milk after you leave the office for the day may be more helpful than setting it for 6 p.m., when you may still be at your desk.

Minimal, streamlined interface: For an app that handles so much, it's astoundingly clean and easy to navigate.

Tutorials: Handle comes with five tutorials and four FAQ categories to help you get the most of out of the app.

Cons

Google-only: Handle works only with Google products Gmail and Chrome (if you also download Handlebar, the Chromium plug-in for your desktop that enables you to work across devices). However, for those who don't or won't use Gmail or Chrome, this app isn't very useful. We'd prefer that Handle open its doors to other email providers and browsers, so that non-Google users may also benefit.

High learning curve: Though Handle comes with tutorials and FAQs, the app takes some time to master.

Bottom Line

Handle is a time-saving to-do app. By integrating your email and calendar into its software and operating on easy swiping gestures, Handle helps you stay on top of your already hectic personal and professional life without adding more to-dos to it.
