Hands-on with Android Lollipop on an upgraded 2014 Moto X
Motorola has an amazing track record of updating its Moto X models in a timely fashion, sometimes even faster than Nexus devices. The excellent Verizon Moto X received the Lollipop update late on Monday and I have been kicking the tires the last couple of days.
The full changelog for this update is posted on the Droid Life website and, as you can see, the material design element appears throughout. I honestly didn't think it would be that big of an update, but so far I am enjoying what Google has done here.
I had a chance to try out Android Lollipop on the Google Nexus 9, but I'm more of a phone guy so I needed to really test it out on a smartphone. The notifications and quick controls are some of the most noticeable new features.
A few things we saw on last year's Moto X now appear within Android. These include advanced interruption control and trusted Bluetooth devices. The recent apps feature now lets you have web browser tabs appear in the task switcher, along with draft emails as a separate card.
