    Today would have been the 57th birthday of Apple co-founder and visionary Steve Jobs, who died on Oct. 5, 2011, after a long battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer.

    Social media users have been extremely active in wishing the late media mogul a happy birthday, and "Happy Birthday Steve Jobs" is currently trending worldwide on Twitter. A tweet from the official General Electric account this morning read, "Happy Birthday Steve Jobs. Innovation wouldn't be the same without you."

    Another popular tweet from numerous users read, "3 Apples changed the world: Adam and Eve's forbidden apple, Newton's apple and finally Steve Jobs's Apple. Happy Birthday Steve Jobs."

      steve jobs is a non believer who made millions off others ......hmmmm....i wonder if the playing field was leveled when he became ill.....funny how all he did still didnt earn him a place in heaven...this man was evil

        im mad at steve jobs for abusing and using people to get to the top...yea he made it to top but cost others...so perhaps justice was served in the end....

      Hate to burst the Jobs bubble, but I go wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back to pre Mac days(read that Lisa) and Mr Jobs would nothing without the Woz, who single handedly designed the mouse. So, let's drop the idolatry of a man that was on LSD, abused his employees, and drove vendors to the edge of bankruptcy. We need a new definition of a visionary.

        actually Xerox designed the modern computer including the mouse... and while Woz was the engineer Jobs was the visionary he had the ambition being smart is good but being ambitious is better.

      I appreciate that Mr. Petronzio has memorialized Steve Jobs. He certainly is someone that has influenced the lives of a whole generation. He had human failings as we all do. Yet, he strove to live out his life humbly and with a strong sense of purpose. His day of birth into our world is just a reminder of his existence for a time among us. This was a giant of a man whose legacy is to simply reach out for excellence in all spheres of life. RIP, Steve Jobs.

      It isn't actually his birthday anymore, it was his birthday. He and a team of designers, techies and ad/business people made the inevitable smartphone (I mean come on, we were all thinking of it in the late 90's, "gee I wish my cell phone could ___") and some really cool hardware and software. They did a great job, but moving on...

      What is this weird obession that everyone has with this guy? Im sure he is resting in peace and could care less about the day he was birthed. They should make his birthday and his death day a national holiday, give him a month of appreciation. Or even better give a day off in every month where we can take off and "worship" him until we all turn into an ipod.

      Apple is doomed to the fools and their pseudo-degrees from the business schools. Without the dropout to bail them out like last time they destroyed Apple, I give them less than five years before they make Apple the next Kodak.
