Hawks' Jenkins out two games; Ayon 4-8 to miss weeks

The Atlanta Hawks announced John Jenkins will miss two games with back discomfort and forward/center Gustavo Ayon is expected to be sidelined 4-8 weeks with a shoulder injury.

"Jenkins received an MRI and examination yesterday by Dr. Michael Bernot at Peachtree Orthopedics in Atlanta," the Hawks announced Tuesday. "The results confirmed his low back muscle pain. He is listed as day-to-day and his status will be updated as appropriate."

Jenkins, 22, was a first-round pick out of Vanderbilt in 2012.

He averaged 6.1 points in 61 games as a rookie.

Ayon was injured against Miami on Monday and had an MRI on his right shoulder that revealed inflammation and a strain to the rotator cuff. He will undergo a period of rest, treatment and rehabilitation.
