Health Tip: Rheumatoid Arthritis Can Damage Joints

POSSIBLE SYMPTOMS OF RA??? "The Cleveland Clinic cites these possible symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis:
•Joints that are swollen, painful, red and tender to the touch.
•Worn cartilage -- the cushions at the ends of bones.
•Buildup of fluid in and around the joints.
•Bones that rub against each other.
•In chronic cases, potential permanent bone damage."

Oh please - those ARE the initial symptoms of RA - not just "possible", they are probable, you idiots. And there are others, many others, such as inflammation of internal organs that can lead to debility and to death. You people seem to have NO CLUE about RA and all the problems it causes. How about unrelenting fatigue and tiredness, increasing pain and stiffness, and a host of medications that treat the symptoms while often causing additional problems all their own - like cancer, for one. How about the fact that NO ONE KNOWS what causes RA to begin with and the fact that it seems to be something no one cares to find out - oh yes, there is research - but mostly about all the symptoms, not the cause. "Oh, your immune system went haywire and started attacking your body." Well, I for one, find that incredibly hard to believe - even though the immune system response is such that the inflammations occurs. But wouldn't it make much more sense to say that SOMETHING causes the immune system to attack the synovial fluid sacs around every single joint in an RA patient's body and often internal organs, creating enough havoc to cause the immune response to kick into high gear trying to get rid of it? That makes sense to me and a whole lot of other RA patients. But God forbid we ask our Rheumatologist to look into it - they just get angry and tell us that the cause is not known. You can't tell me that this debilitating disease just drops upon us from nowhere and the sole cause of it is that our immune systems have gone haywire. What BS that is. SOMETHING causes it - but research will never find that cause simply because it is not economically feasible to do so. Look at all the money drug companies get every single year for coming up with new treatments - like bioligics that cost 2 arms and 2 legs with a heart or 2 thrown in for good measure. Yeah, they work okay at supressing the immune system, but should we not be doing exactly the opposite with this disease? Should we not be trying to rev up the immune system even more so that it can do its job and get rid of whatever has invaded the body of an RA patient once and for all? RA drops into our lives out of the blue - unwanted and unneeded - and wreaks havoc on our lives. And all you have to say about it is to tell what they symptoms are? Why bother to write such crap to start with - unless, of course, you had a deadline to meet. I hope they pay you a significant amount for you eye opening jolt of information here. Wow - you really gave me some great new insight into this disease I didn't already know. You could have at least Googled it and found out any kind of information you wanted there - and then some. But all you wrote was this ridiculous partial list of symptoms. What a waste of space and time this article is. Even I, not a medical professional, but indeed and RA sufferer and patient know a hell of a lot more about RA than you do, or care to know, with your obvious lack of research here. I know I could have done at least 500% better with this article than you have - and they pay you for writing this garbage? What a waste.

What is with these articles tonight Yahoo? Rheumatoid arthritis can damage joints. Long term acetaminophen use can damage liver. Well DUH! News from the 70's. How about an article on The Heart - It Pumps Blood. Or Stab Wounds Found to Cause Bleeding! ?? Look, the ads are stupid enough. Can't you TRY to have some GOOD, up-to-date, intelligent news??
