About Dr. Susan Nedza
Dr. Susan Nedza, a nationally recognized physician leader is the Vice President of Strategic Clinical Solutions at HealthyCircles, LLC. Her broad experience as a board-certified emergency medicine specialist, as a Chief Medical Officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and most recently as senior executive at the American Medical Association (AMA), have given her a unique vantage point at the confluence of clinical care, health care delivery systems and health care policy. While at CMS, Dr. Nedza led efforts to implement the Medicare Drug Benefit at the regional level and helped to design and implement the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI), the first Medicare pay-for-reporting program for health care professionals. At the AMA, Dr. Nedza was responsible for defining and implementing the clinical quality and patient safety strategy. Most recently, she served as Medical Director for Clinical Practice Solutions and launched AMAFluHelp.org, the first national HIT driven clinical suite of decision support tools in response to the H1N1 pandemic.
Dr. Nedza is Adjunct Associate Professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. She has served as invited faculty at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, the Master's Program on Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety and in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Her research includes work on behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, studying the role that professional organizations can play in helping support physician adoption of Health IT in order to participate in quality improvement collaboratives at the local, regional and state level.
