Here's the First Good Look at Google's Pixel Phone
Google's Pixel phones are expected to be among the many products the company unveils at a press event on Oct. 4, and we may have gotten a definitive look at the new devices. VentureBeat has an image of what it claims to be the Google Pixel, and says that a larger XL version will also be announced.

The phone looks fairly conventional from the front, though you'll notice some changes from traditional Android devices. Notably, Google's icon in the top left-hand corner appears to have a mystery function, and the launcher icons are now all circular. Rumor has it that the Pixel will replace the Nexus line of phones.

HTC is reportedly building the phone, and reports claimed the devices were code-named Sailfish (the smaller phone) and Marlin (the larger). In June, Android Police reported that the smaller device would have a 5-inch, 1080p AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 12-megapixel rear camera, 8-MP front camera and a USB-Type-C port. If you're wondering, Google's phone will have a headphone jack. A later report said the larger of the new phones -- expected to be called the Pixel XL -- will have a 5.5-inch, 2560 x 1440 display and a 128GB storage option. Both phones will have fingerprint readers on the back.
VentureBeat says the phone will be on Verizon in the United States or unlocked from Google; it cites an Android Police report suggesting that the smaller phone will start at $649.
We'll let you know the official news, specs and prices when Google makes its official announcement on Oct. 4.
