Here's What Happens When You Buy a Happy Meal, and Then Don't Eat It for Six Years

Spoiler alert: It doesn't spoil.

You've probably heard that fast food isn't the best for you, but one mom from Alaska has photos to prove it.

Jennifer Lovdahl recently took to Facebook to share pictures of a Happy Meal she bought. After a quick glance, the meal looks pretty standard until her caption reveals that the McDonald's staple was purchased six years ago.

Lovdahl, a chiropractor, bought the meal to purposely not eat it and to see what would happen to it over time. From the looks of the nuggets and fries, not much has happened. As she writes, "It's been sitting at our office this whole time and has not rotted, molded, or decomposed at all!!! It smells only of cardboard."

She conducted the experiment to prove to her patients just how unhealthy fast food is, and showed a picture of the receipt to prove that it was, in fact, six years old.

"There are so many chemicals in this food! Choose real food! Apples, bananas, carrots, celery....those are real fast food," she said. Since her post has gotten over 200,000 shares in a matter of days, it seems like a lot of people got her message.
