Hey, Team Jacob, ‘Twilight Saga’s Taylor Lautner’s Action Career Takes DirectTV Detour: Trailer

As Hollywood rides its veteran leading men Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp and George Clooney into old age, it is figuring out who is in the next crop. We see that Hunger Games hunk Liam Hemsworth has been forgiven for that flop Paranoia and has gotten the male lead in the Will Smith-less Independence Day 2 that gets underway this year at Fox. What about Taylor Lautner, who left young hearts aflutter in the Twilight Saga films? His latest, Tracers, is making its debut on DirectTV on January 22, and then it will reach a few theaters and VOD in March. He plays a bike messenger chased by the mob and helped by his new passion for parkour. None of the three Twilight leads has gotten an automatic pass to the next phase of stardom, and they don’t need the money. Hopefully, Lautner’s crowd makes this multi-platform strategy a success. He seems like a nice guy with abs and enough charm to top line these action films for the younger set, no?
