Hi, baseball fans: You can now put money toward A’s tickets in West Sacramento

Baseball fans can now put down $100 deposits in the hope of securing 2025 and 2026 season tickets to see the Athletics play during their stint in West Sacramento’s Sutter Health Park — the first chance to put money toward these seats.

People who purchased season tickets for the A’s current home, the Oakland Coliseum, will have first priority to buy season tickets when the team temporarily moves to West Sacramento. Those who place a $100 deposit per seat will get the second round of options, with full season ticket holders for the minor league’s Triple-A Sacramento River Cats getting an additional edge within that pool of fans.

The deposits can be made through Ticketmaster. At this time, it appears those who add their name to the list cannot make specific seat selections. Fans can also add their name to a mailing list to receive more information about future ticket sales.

Sutter Health Park can accommodate roughly 14,000 people between its seats, the lawn behind center field and standing areas. Attendance during the A’s last season in Oakland has been very low — ABC7 reported that one game had less than 3,000 in-person spectators. ESPN reported that as of Monday, the A’s home attendance this season hit an average of just over 6,200 fans per game, dead last in MLB and less than half that of the next-lowest team, the Miami Marlins.

The A’s will play in the River Cat’s stadium en route to their new arena in Las Vegas. Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé and Oakland Athletics owner John Fisher announced in April that the team is expected to play in the capital region from 2025 through at least 2027. The A’s plan move to Vegas for the 2028 Major League Baseball season.

On top of the three seasons, the A’s have retained an option to stay in West Sacramento for another year pending the completion of the Vegas stadium.
