Hidden Camera Clip Beats All Official Romney Videos on YouTube

Less than 24 hours after it was released a video of Mitt Romney talking off the cuff to donors about Obama voters -- the "47%" who will "never take responsibility" -- has already overtaken every other YouTube video to feature Romney in a serious context.

The hidden camera clip, acquired by Mother Jones, has amassed more than 1.9 million views, according to YouTube's count.

By contrast, the most-watched video from the Romney campaign -- an ad called "Doing Fine?," released in June -- has 1.3 million views.

Twitter, meanwhile, said Tuesday there have been more than 348,000 Twitter mentions of "47%", including the #47percent hashtag, in the last day.

The original Mother Jones story featuring the clip has been tweeted 71,000 times, and Liked on Facebook 127,000 times -- easily a record for the small San Francisco-based magazine. (And since it's a nonprofit organization, the story has no doubt done wonders for its fundraising.)

The YouTube count doesn't include parody videos or Obama campaign ads that feature Romney. If it did, an Eminem-style spoof called "Will the Real Mitt Romney Please Stand Up" would trounce the hidden camera clip. It has garnered more than 4 million views.

Mother Jones released the full, uncut hidden camera video earlier Tuesday.

Is 1.9 million views in a day enough to swing an election -- or is this a tempest in a teapot that will soon blow over? Give us your take in the comments.

    10. The Rise And Fall Of Welfare Reform

This ad focused on President Obama's dismantling of the welfare reform bill in 2012. The bill was signed into legislation in 1996 with widespread bipartisan support. The ad used statements from other Democrats -- like Obama's VP Joe Biden -- stating their support for the original bill to imply Obama is out of step with his fellow politicians and the country's needs. The ad was shared 47, 624 times.
