Hollywood Doesn't Show Mitt the Money
While the President is hosting lavish dinners with Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker and accepting donations from some of Hollywood's biggest names, Mitt Romney isn't getting any love from right-wing celebrities.

As Politico points out, Mitt only got four donations from actors in May, and we doubt you've heard of any of them. Nick Searcy is the most well-travelled name, a role player who has a face you'll recognize from that thing you watched that one time. He donated $250.

And then there's the President, he of $40,000 plate dinners and George Clooney-hosted fundraisers. Just the other day, the Obama campaign announced a June 29th fundraiser in Los Angeles hosted by a group of much more household names, including Jared Leto, Big Bang Theory's Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde, David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky, Peter Frampton, Zach Braff, Connie Britton, Zachary Quinto, among others. Tickets are going for $2,500. As Deadline points out, the famous people hosting the event don't come from a certain generation. Some are considered young, some are old, and Jared Leto's somewhere in the middle. (Deadline called him young, but he's 40, so we would like to respectfully disagree. My So-Called Life aired in 1994. Get with it.)

For the Obama campaign, the Hollywood connection makes sense. He doesn't have as much super-PAC support as the Romney campaign does, so he has to find money in other ways. Can you guess who has a lot of money? Actors. But, as Politico notes, Scott Baio and Jon Voight recently attended Romney fundraisers, so they'll likely be showing up on his donations sheets for June. Those names should start an A-List donation frenzy for the Romney campaign.
