This is Hollywood’s latest plan to fight piracy
Hollywood is not done fighting online piracy, and it has come up with a new weapon against illegal movie and TV show downloads, Re/code reports. A new entertainment search website has launched, and it will tell you where you can watch certain films and TV shows online legally. WhereToWatch.com, built by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), is already available online in beta, and it’s ready to point Internet users who are looking for online entertainment to legal video-streaming services.

The search engine doesn’t have ads, and it’s free to use for anyone looking for watching movies online. Once a title is entered, the search engine will return several places to watch that particular movie or TV show online alongside rental and buying prices, if available online. Content sources include iTunes, Amazon, Netflix, Xbox Video, Flixter, Vudu, Target Ticket and others.
Additionally, the site offers information for DVD and Blu-ray purchases and rentals, in case that’s how a user prefers to watch movies.
For new releases, the site will let users find showtimes in their areas once they enter their ZIP code. Unfortunately, the site doesn’t also show TV listings for movies or TV shows, or at least not in the current version.
