As one who is a Christian and enjoys yoga, I was delighted to discover Holy Yoga. Yoga is excellent on its own, and so it Christianity. However, when the two practices are combined, the result is one great experience that goes beyond excellence. I will take you on a journey to discover exactly what Holy Yoga is and share videos of this practice in action.
What is Yoga?
Some people believe that yoga is a religion in and of itself, but it is not. Rather, it is spiritual training that can be somewhat compared to prayer, fasting or deep thinking, and it has the ability to improve personal thinking and faith.
What is Christianity?
Christianity is the belief the Jesus Christ is God in the flesh as it is told in the Bible. It is the belief that Jesus willingly entered earth in human form to save as many people as He could. Those who are believers in Christ trust in the Old and New Testament that make up the 66 books in the entire Bible. They believe the entire Bible to be honest and without error.
What is Holy Yoga?
Holy Yoga is a form of worship that is meant to strengthen people's relationship with Jesus Christ. The only intention is to produce a Christ honoring encounter to both believers and non-believers alike. The goal is to combine God's Word and worship with physical and mental health. Yoga involves deep breathing, and when breathing and movement are combined, along with committing oneself to Christ, the result is appearing in the abundance of His brilliance.

For a better understanding of Holy Yoga, enjoy a video presentation that introduces the practice. After watching the introduction, watch Brooke Boon in action as she performs yoga poses (asanas) in her "Holy Yoga Power DVD." Brooke performs some impressive asanas, such as the side crane pose and the wheel pose with a leg extension.
For those who have children or teach them at church, Rachel Glowacki offers a Holy Yoga DVD for children called "Kids' Holy Yoga." This is a great way for kids to learn about God and get physical activity at the same time. Bible stories are brought to life through asanas, teaching kids that Jesus lives within them.
If you love yoga and God, try Holy Yoga! In addition to DVDs, there are many other ways to get involved, including yoga cruises and instructor training.
