Homosexuality Gaining Wider Acceptance in the U.S.

MONDAY, Oct. 10 (HealthDay News) -- Younger generations are leading the way toward greater tolerance and social acceptance of gays and lesbians in the United States, according to new research.

While the nation remains deeply divided on gay marriage, the vast majority of Americans support basic civil liberties and freedom of expression for homosexual people.

This wasn't always the case. In 1973, 70 percent of Americans felt homosexuality was "always wrong," the report revealed. By 2010, the percentage of those who felt that homosexuality was "always wrong" had dropped to 44 percent.

The findings show a clear "trend toward greater tolerance regarding homosexuality," said Tom W. Smith, director of the General Social Survey at NORC and author of the NORC report, in news release last week.

The researchers found a dramatic increase in support for same-sex marriage over the last 20 years, jumping from an 11 percent approval rate in 1988 to 46 percent in 2010. Meanwhile, 40 percent remain opposed.

"There is a large generation gap on the issue [of same-sex marriage]," noted Smith. While 64 percent of those under age 30 support gay marriage, just 27 percent of those aged 70 or older feel the same.

The findings, based on a national survey of more than 2,000 people, also showed more general acceptance of homosexuality among younger people. In 2010, only 26 percent those under age 30 said they believed same-sex behavior is "always wrong." However, 63 percent of those 70 and older held that belief.

Public attitudes on the issue are highly polarized, the researchers found. Although 44 percent of those surveyed felt that sex between two adults of the same sex is "always wrong," 41 percent thought such behavior was "not wrong at all." Only 11 percent of the people surveyed fell somewhere in the middle.

Although the nation remains divided on feelings towards homosexuality, a significant increase occurred in support for civil liberties for gays and lesbians over the past two decades.

Support for a gay person's right to speak publically jumped to 86 percent in 2010 -- up from 62 percent in 1972. Meanwhile, support for homosexuals teaching at colleges or universities rose to 84 percent in 2010, up from 48 percent in 1973. The researchers also found more people approved of library books that cast a favorable light on homosexuality. Support for these books rose from 54 percent in 1973 to 78 percent in 2010.

If heterosexuals don't have to hide who they are and who they're attracted to why can't homosexuals? LGBT's don't want any more rights or privileges than anyone else, they want equality. They want to be able to marry, express themselves and be proud of who they are just like straight people without being looked down upon and/or harassed. The reason it is being promoted in the media (and sometimes schools) is to let people know that LGBT's are humans too. They have dreams, goals, good qualities, and most of all vices and flaws, just like their straight counterparts, and they need to be acknowledged and respected like every other human. They are not "forcing" you to be gay. There is absolutely no way to be forced into that. Many gays and lesbians have committed suicide because they know they won't be accepted by society and can't hold their secret in any longer. All gays want is life, liberty, and most of all, the pursuit of happiness, just like everyone else. The majority of anything should never be allowed to oppress the minority of anything. It's time for that to stop. Homophobes never have a truly rational reason for their antipathy towards gays except that they are simply different and they don't understand them. But the bottom line is they are humans too and DESERVE the same of EVERYTHING straight people are allowed to have, including pride and happiness.

On April 27, 2005, a Lexington, MA, parent, David Parker, was arrested by the Lexington police and charged with "trespassing" at his son’s elementary school during a scheduled meeting with the principal and the town’s Director of Education over his objections to homosexual curriculum materials. Parker had asked for notification and possible opt-out for his son for homosexual curriculum or ad-hoc discussions by adults in his son’s kindergarten class. After several months of communication, he was repeatedly told that his requests are "not possible." He finally said he would not leave the meeting until this was resolved.

After being arrested and spending the night in jail, Parker was arraigned on Thursday, April 28, in Concord District Court. When he informed Judge Robert McKenna that he had not been allowed to call his lawyer, the judge scolded him for not being respectful. Parker was released on $1,000 surety bond. He was officially informed that he may not set foot on any school property in Lexington, or he will be arrested again for trespassing. A hearing was set for June 1, followed by court appearances on Aug. 2 and Sept. 19.

As asked toleave and he did not. Hence the trespassing charge?
      • A Yahoo! User 4 mths ago
His children were in that school. Why did the principal ask him to leave and why are you ignoring the content of the letters and the lies from the principal and the school system? Address the context -- the parents were invited to the meeting and when they didn't buy the lies then he was escorted out of a public school meeting and taken to jail. All in the name of mistreating the parents and teaching homosexuality to the children and the school denying the rights of parents. The school lied about SEVERAL things.
      • SteveE 4 mths ago
Because there were not lies. I have reas the letters. Parker was upset that he could not opt his kids from this class. He became agitated and refused to leave until he was satisfied. That is when he was asked to leave.
How is it that you do not recognize that a parent, when asked to leave a school, is guilty of trespassing, which is what Parker was charged with?

Homosexuals would have the world believe they just can't help themselves. And the media is helping to promote homosexuality.
      • SteveE 4 mths ago
        Asking alot, but proof?
      • A Yahoo! User 4 mths ago
Proof it's not happening SteveE? Look at the Massachusetts school systems, don't lie SteveE. The evidence is no longer hidden. .
      • SteveE 4 mths ago
The Mass. school disrtricts are following guidelines put forth by the SBOE. That ciriculuum is approved by a committee. The parents have choices, private school, home school, etc.
As for the rest of your statement, you did not answer: where is the proof?
    • A Yahoo! User  •  4 mths ago
Of course NARTH founder and homosexual pedophile Joseph Nicolosi would retract any statement he might have made that would hold homosexuals accountable for their actions and choices.

Lies from the principal to the parents (Parkers):
      Date: Wednesday, January 18, 2005

      Dear Mr. and Mrs. Parker,

Of course it is my intent to answer your questions when we meet. I can tell you that we do not have any part of the Kindergarten curriculum that teaches students about gay values. What I can't control is what students may say to one another, as we do have children in our school who have parents who are same sex partners. These issues may come up in talk on the playground, during show and tell, when a student shares a picture about what the family did over the weekend, or when their parents come in to the classroom to volunteer or for a party. In some cases, teachers will need to respond, and they do their best to do it in a way that is factual and respectful of all families, referring children to their parents if they have more detailed questions. Also, the school libraries in Lexington all contain, as part of our collections on families, a couple of books that depict a variety of family configurations (as in the one you saw in the bookbag). [Your son] might choose such a book to look at and bring home, though he certainly wouldn't be guided to one.

That said, would you be able to make any of the times that I indicated? If not, please propose some others.

      Joni Jay
      Principal, Estabrook School

        Where is the lie?
      • A Yahoo! User 4 mths ago
What part of 'the Kindergarten cirriculum that teaches students about gay values' do you not understand? Read where the principal said no other parents complained about homosexual teaching at the school. A blatant lie. Many lies.
      • SteveE 4 mths ago
They were stories that reflected same sex parents. That is very different than extolling gay values.
    • A Yahoo! User  •  4 mths ago
If homosexuals really believed homosexuality is genetic, then the LGBT would not attack humanity at it's roots; our children, by teaching them that homosexuality is natural and normal. See, the LGBT know children have malable minds and that children can be taught to be homosexuals and to accept homosexuality. No reliable source of scientific evidence tells us homosexuals are genetically born and that homosexuality is NOT a choice. Homosexuals would not attack heterosexuals by trying to recruit the children if homosexuality was genetic.
      • SteveE 4 mths ago
        Science diasagrees with your statement...
      • A Yahoo! User 4 mths ago
U r wrong SteveE even homosexual scientists admitted they didn't find a homosexual gene.
      • SteveE 4 mths ago
        CT:
Nor have they identified a staight gene! I did not say there was a gay gene. There may be one, and we have not identified it yet. Currently, homosexuality is thought to be more epigenic in causation.

Here is a quoted statement from the parent:
“I, David Parker, am the father of a kindergarten student at Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington, Massachusetts. Since the beginning of this school year, my wife and I have learned that school materials and discussions about gay-headed households/same-sex union issues have been exposed to the children. There are definitive plans to increase the teacher/staff/adult mediated discussions of these subjects.

“We have officially stated on many occasions—to the Lexington school administration—a request that we be notified when these discussions are planned, and want our 6-year-old opted out of such situations when arising “spontaneously”.

“Our parental requests for our own child were flat-out denied with no effort at accommodation. In our meeting on April 27, I, insisted that such accommodation be made and refused to leave the meeting room. I was informed that I would be arrested.”

So our judicial system (no doubt) controlled by homosexuals, is forcing our children to not only be subjected to the lies about homosexuality, but parents have no right to protect their children from the subjection. Injustice...and you can blame Obama for his hand in advancing homosexuality. Obama himself has been linked to having homosexual relationships and at least one of his claimed to be homosexual partners was murdered to keep their mouth shut to keep the public from hearing about why our president would create 150 government jobs and appoint homosexuals to all 150 positions. Heterosexuals are being discriminated against and being forced to have their children doctrinated with homosexuality. This is evil.

January 21, 2005 - Parkers meet with Principal
Tonia Parker's notes: Discussed anti-bias diversity book bags. She [Principal] stated we were the first ones to ever complain about the diversity book bag. This is the third year. She communicated to us that she had checked with administrators and that no parental notification is required to discuss homosexual families/issues. Principal also added, "Faculty can discuss homosexual families and homosexual issues with your son." We firmly stated that is not acceptable and we object. [A8A Comment: Telling parents that they're the "first ones" to complain is a common, and often dishonest, tactic. We once had three parents told that by a principal in the same day!]
January 28 - Impromptu meeting with Principal
David was displeased that the diversity book bag had gotten into his family's 'hands' again, also against parents' will. Two days earlier, Tonia was driving home her son and another child -- the Montalvo's son -- from school. The other boy had been given the book bag for the weekend, and had it in the car with him. But the boy's parents had already stated that they objected to the diversity bag, and did not want it coming home with their son. The school sent it home anyway! The Montalvos left Lexington soon afterwards because of this and similar incidents.
February 8 - Parkers attend Anti-Bias Committee Meeting.
Subject of meeting, sponsored by Estabrook Anti-Bias Committee, was "How and Why to talk to your Kids about Diversity," featuring Jon Pfeifer, who was described as "award winning guest speaker and GLSEN representative." The entire talk was about homosexuality. Summary of actions he felt needed to be taken in the public schools: many homosexual family books in each elementary classroom, gay/lesbian family posters on the walls of every elementary classroom, and teacher initiated discussions about homosexual families/issues.

February 15 - Parkers attend second Anti-Bias Committee Meeting
Committee discussed anti-bias committee mission statement.

Late February - Montalvo family removes children from Estabrook Elementary School over homosexual agenda.
See statement read at Parker rally. Montalvos had similar experiences to Parkers with their children in the lower grades of the Estabrook Elementary School. Father has also attended Estabrook Anti-Bias meeting with David Parker. Their solution, unfortunately, was to remove their children from the Lexington school system.

        Date: Friday, March 4, 2005
        Ms Jay,
We find it necessary to write to you and the Lexington Public School to inform you of the following:
We do not authorize any teacher or adult within the Lexington Public School system to expose our sons, [older son] and [younger son] (begins school in 2006) to any sexual orientation/homoseexual material/same sex unions between parents.
We shall be notified in advance of any such activity in the Estabrook School.
        Dave and Tonia Parker

        Date: Friday, March 4, 2005
        Dear Mr. and Mrs. Parker,
The Lexington Public School Policy is that any discussion of sex requires parental notification. We have a unit that deals with Human Growth and Development in 5th grade and parents are notified about that. I have confirmed with our Assistant Superintendent and our Director of Health Education that discussion of differing families, including gay-headed families, is not included in the parental notification policy. If you wish to clarify the policy with me or Mr. Ravenelle, please feel free to contact us.

Subject: David and Tonia Parker's Parental Rights Assertion
We would like to clarify that our previous e-mail which states: "we do not give the Lexington Public School system permission to discuss homosexuality issues (i.e. - trans gender/bisexual/gay headed households) to our son [son's name]" - is a parental assertion; not a matter open to legal interpretation or administrative policy. Let us, David and Tonia Parker, parents of [son's name], be clear in purpose and prose on this matter:
Discussions concerning homosexuality issues will not take place in front of our son, [son's name] (5 yrs old), at Estabrook. This includes material given to [our son] to covertly transport into our household (i.e.- diversity book bag). Such doctrine is against our Christian family beliefs. We will be notified when there are plans to have homosexual material discussed with the students - when [our son] is present - so that we can take action to ensure his spiritual safety. You are not permitted to infringe upon our religious beliefs and parental rights or obviate our freedom of choice, to exclude our son from material that would expose him to beliefs contrary to the Word of God in our Christian faith. Our parental rights and Christian belief system will be respected in this diversity- oriented, anti-biased school community. We know other parents, of various faiths and values, that endorse this position. This is not solely a Christian assertion of rights.
May God bless everyone who reads this to be shown his Love and truth of his Word.
        In Christ,
        Dave and Tonia Parker
PS- It is requisite that our assertion of rights be documented to teacher/staff; since, there were previous examples of less than adequate communication within the Lexington School system.

However, there seems to be some ambiguity on who will be attending-- Mr. Hurley or Mr. Ravenelle or both? Please confirm by E-mail to clarify the situation and the meeting time before Wednesday.

April 26 - Principal to Parkers, clarifications for final meeting:
      Date: Tuesday, April 26 2005
      Dear Mr. and Mrs. Parker,

Today our son, [child's name], in Ms Johnson's kindergarten class at Estabrook, brought home a Diversity Book bag. It was filled with various books deemed appropriate by the anti-bias group, and funded by the Lexington Education Foundation and the PTA. In response to the request to fill in a Family Feedback Form found in the Diversity Book bag we have constructed the following letter. We wish to make our feedback known publicly.
In the feedback form given to us, it explicitly states that one of the goals of this program is to acknowledge and celebrate the diverse backgrounds and families in our school community. There is a book included entitled, Who's in a Family (with pictures) that include lesbian and homosexual couples with children ---- implicitly equating this family structure as a morally equal alternative to other family constructs. We stand firmly against this book or any other subject matter pertaining to homosexuality ever being indoctrinated to our child, discussed in school, or sent home. We don't believe gay parents constitute a spiritually healthy family and should not be celebrated.
It is one thing to endorse to not persecute/harm homosexuals/lesbians, it is another to teach young children implicitly that these values are acceptable. Some may maintain that if they can not present homosexual situations in school--- this is a form of persecution and harm. To us- this is a very contrived argument. The real question is-do parents have the right to exclude/shield their children from these contrary values being pushed upon young children in elementary school. Furthermore, we believe--just because it is legal in this one state does not give the school the right to teach that it is correct- even implicitly. After all, it was once legal that women and blacks could not vote, and slavery was once legal by law---and that did not make it correct. Estabrook elementary school (or any elementary school for that matter ) is not supposed to teach my child values and morals. That is the parents' sacred responsibility- whether the parents are heterosexual or homosexual. The public school system is there to teach reading, writing, arithmetic, science, music, art, and other school subjects. We acknowledge that there are rights that need to be protected for the gay community, however; the "out of the closet" into the kindergarten classroom mentality will not do justice to this cause and frankly- it just isn't necessary at this impressionable age. We believe this is a promotion of homosexuality to young impressionable children whom are told to listen and obey their teachers and principle, who knowingly or unwittingly will indeed become the purveyors of these values.
We want to state for the record that [son's name] shall be removed from any and all classroom or school functions which discuss or display homosexuality. We anticipate that you will respect our wishes.
We believe we have the right to answers from you to the following series of questions:
      1) Is it the intention of Estabrook to include homosexual/lesbian family dynamics as part of the school curriculum?
      2) Is your position in this matter that parents don't have the right to intervene in teaching homosexual family values because of state law?
      3) Is equal emphasis and sensitivity being given to Judeo/Christian/Islamic and secular communities and their respective family values--- many of which do not endorse gay family values?
      4) Do you commit to us that [son's name] will not be subjected to homosexual family values at Estabrook?
      5) Who else has viewed these materials and deemed it appropriate for the children in the school system to take home and view/read?
      ItTO BE CONTINUED....

"Who's in a family?" - in the Diversity Book Bag
This is the book that came home in the "Diversity Book Bag" with the Parkers' 5-year-old son in January. The Parkers were shocked and outraged.

As the elementary school's web site described this book:
"Shows the various combinations of individuals that can make up a family, emphasizing the positive aspects of different family structures, including grand-parent headed, single-parent, adopted, gay-headed, and mother-father families. Uses examples from the animal kingdom to illustrate how family groupings can differ."

      In the author's own words:
"The whole purpose of the book was to get the subject [of same-sex parent households] out into the minds and the awareness of children before they are old enough to have been convinced that there's another way of looking at life.
. . . It would be really nice if children were not subjected to the -- I don't want to use the word 'bigotry,' but that's what I want to say anyway -- of their parents and older people.
. . .The book was written because my neice and her partner [two lesbians] decided to have a family."
Author Robert Skutch, National Public Radio interview, "Here and Now", May 3, 2005

      Some sample pages:
Text: "A family can be made up in many different ways." (Note how they place the same-sex partners among the regular and interracial families, to reinforce in the child's mind that homosexual relationships are no different.)
Text: "Laura and Kyle live with their two moms, Joyce and Emily, and a poodle named Daisy. It takes all four of them to give Daisy her bath." The book uses subtle but powerful emotions to normalize homosexual relationships in the minds of the young children.
Text: "Robin's family is made up of her dad, Clifford, her dad's partner, Henry, and Robin's cat, Sassy. Clifford and Henry take turns making dinner for their family."

      Ms Jay,
Dave and I would like to schedule a meeting with you at your convenience. Dave attended the anti-bias meeting on 4/11/05. They informed Dave that books with homosexual issues/families will be placed in every classroom in our school.
Were you aware of this? Who approved this? Various members of the anti-bias group also told Dave that our parental rights assertion would not be honored or respected at Estabrook. By what authority does the anti-bias group deny us of our rights? Who is responsible for the official response to our parental rights assertion pertaining to our son, [son's name]?
We thank you in advance for addressing these questions and also scheduling a time we can meet with you.
      Sincerely In Christ,
      Dave and Tonia Parker

April 22 - Principal to Parkers, scheduling final meeting:
      Date: Friday, April 22, 2005
      Dear Mr. and Mrs. Parker,
My apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I've been trying to arrange a time that Mr. Ravenelle, the Director of Education, could join us to meet. We could both meet with you on Wednesday, April 27 at 2:30 or 3. Would that work for you? If not, please indicate some possible times, and I'll see what we can do.
      Joni Jay

April 24 - Parkers to Principal & Director of Education, restating their specific reason for requesting meeting:
      Date: Sunday, April 24, 2005
      Ms Jay and Mr Ravenelle,
We were not certain that a previously sent E-mail concerning the confirmation of our meeting on April 27th, 2005 from 3:00-4:00 pm was properly transmitted- so we have re-sent another version.
Dave needs to make arrangements to leave work for Wednesday's meeting concerning additional materials regarding gay-headed households to be infused into Estabrook Elementary without parental notification. We would like to confirm an appointment to meet with you on April 27th from 3:00-4:00 pm. Please also inform us where the meeting will be taking place at and ensure that both of you will be in attendance.
Please be prepared to address the following questions as per our last E-mail:
Dave attended the anti-bias meeting on 4/11/05. They informed Dave that books with homosexual issues/families will be placed in every classroom in our school. Were you aware of this? Who approved this? Various members of the anti-bias group also told Dave that our parental rights assertion would not be honored or respected at Estabrook. By what authority does the anti-bias group deny us of our rights? Who is responsible for the official response to our parental/religious rights assertion pertaining to our son, [son's name]?
We will insist that notification be given to us, as parents of [son's name] (6yrsold), concerning the exposure of gay-headed households/transgender issues at Estabrook to him, since such, is contrary to our religious and secular family beliefs/values-- as you have already been informed on numerous occasions.
We very much look forward to meeting with you.
God Bless in Jesus Christ's name,
      David and Tonia Parker

Subject: Respecting Beliefs Counter to the Gay Agenda
From David Parker: You may remember that I am a new member of the Estabrook anti-bias group and have a child in Kindergarten.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the next Anti-bias meeting on March 14th, however; I want to insure that my sentiments/suggestions are not lost for this meeting. I am new to this group and have some critical questions/comments?
      1) Is it the intention of the anti-bias group to inform or expose the children in elementary school to any homosexual or sexual orientation initiatives or principles? I assumed this information is to inform adults- however, the diversity bookbag initiative proves otherwise. I want to make sure that we are not creating a foundation to expose students to this. I want to insure that "safety" in our mission statement implies "spiritual safety" of my children. We were saddened by the departure of the Montalvos (2nd grade and kindergarten) from Estabrook - the fact is - they did not feel safe at Estabrook because their children have been exposed to gay issues without parental consent. And I do not want our recommendations that "set direction for schools" and "the school improvement plan" to suggest in anyway to include initiatives that compromise the spiritual safety of (my) any children.
      2) I have witnessed, at these anti-bias meetings, that the other side of the homosexual issue and other belief systems/parental values that oppose sexual orientation/homosexuality are not being taken into account (or at the least are not given equal consideration with respect to time and emphasis. In fact, this "anti-bias" group seems extremely bias in this regard. To provide a balance, I am putting forth several speakers to the anti-bias group. The first is John R. Diggs, Jr., MD- Clinician, Educator, Speaker to talk about marriage, Religion, and homosexuality. The second is Stephen Bennett or other Ex-gay individuals - to speak on changing From Gay to straight. I am seeking others.
There is a very strong under current of conflicting belief systems/values at the anti-bias meetings. Specifically, those that believe homosexuality should be accepted as normal and those that don't. All though I am stating the obvious, we must not be afraid to seek to understand all sides of the gay/straight/ heteros-exual and same sex marriage issues. Let us truly seek to be anti-biased and respect the diversity of other points of view.
Also- may I have the list of all E-mail addresses to the anti- bias group.
Thank you in advance for your consideration,
      Sincerely,
      David Parker

It's just signs of the time when evil prevails over good - homosexuality, murder, pedophilia, incest, rape, beastiality, all these things are promoted as good. The homosexual movement, parents murdering their children and found innocent (Casey Anthony), pedophilia (especially homosexuals preying on children in the Catholic Church, Sandusky through charities that are supposed to help children, and the LGBT in the school systems under the lie of teaching anti-bullying), fathers molesting their children, men molesting women/girls, women molesting little boys (I haven't heard of a man complaining about free sex from women yet), men molesting men/boys, women molesting women/girls, free sex withouth commitments in marriage, humans having sex with animals.... marriage between humans and animals, casual sex, sex outside marriage, marriage between two people of the same sex. This world has gone mad and the public is allowing it. That is why people even hate decent morals and religion - because religion is against evil. People want to do 'whatever' they want without consequences.

From the Estabrook Elementary School website, description of two other books sent home in "diversity bookbags". (Note: since the Parker incident, many pages and links have mysteriously disappeared from that website. But the following were found.)

FIRST GRADE: Best, Best Colors by Eric Hoffman
Description: Nate has trouble deciding what his favorite color is, but his two lesbian mamas help him realize that he does not have to have a best, best color.

FIFTH GRADE: My Two Uncles, by Judith Vigna
Description: Elly's grandfather has trouble accepting the fact his son is gay. Shows the different feelings that exist within a family regarding a gay family member from a child's point of view.
      Suggested activities for families:
      1. Pretend you were the niece or nephew of Uncle Ned. Write a response to Uncle Ned's letter.
      2. At the party, Elly's grandfather made a speech and Elly's parents cried. Why do you think they cried?
      3. Do you think Elly's two uncles will be invited to the next family gathering? Why or why not?
      4. Do you think Elly's two uncles should be invited to the next family function? Why or why not?

The incident with the Parkers and the Estabrook School indicates the LGBT controls the schools and they intend to indoctrinate every single child in America that homosexuality is normal and they intend to have children grow up with the mindset that homosexuality is ok. This is serious. All schools will be teaching children (if not already) that homosexuality is normal and natural. This is how the homosexual movement is advancing by attacking our children. .

The real haters and bigots are the homosexuals and all that support them. The heterophobics.

Homosexuals will not live and let live. Homosexuals impose and force their choice of sexuality on everyone and they attack at the roots - our children. Those opposed to homosexuality should have the right to expect schools to NOT expose their children to homosexuality. But no, homosexuals and people like Obama protect the homosexuals while trampling on The Constitutional rights of those opposed to homosexuality and opposed to having their children taught this evil. Homosexuals don't want rights, they want to control. It is pure hatred and self-centeredness and bigotry to force homosexuality on everyone. The downfall of America and other parts of the world that have embraced homosexuality. Pitiful....and outrageous.

NARTH founder Joseph Nicolosi, arguably the father of modern reparative therapy, has retracted his claim that a patient was able to change his sexual orientation through an SSRI.

In 2009, Dr Nicolosi said his client had made no progress in eight years of therapy, but after a course of Lexapro, a brand of the antidepressant escitalopram, “he discovered that he had no more sexual attractions to men.” Although his claim failed to find a publisher, it didn’t stop NARTH using it as evidence in its 2009 ground-breaking, peer-reviewed study, the notorious publication that turned out not to be ground-breaking, peer-reviewed or even a study — it was a mere (very selective) literature review, published by NARTH and reviewed internally.

Nicolosi has now said the evidence doesn’t support Lexapro as a gay cure. Writes Dr Warren Throckmorton, who reported this story:

Instead of noting that the case reported was only one success out of four tries, the authors [of the NARTH paper] only noted the one case which appeared to be a success at the time. Now, according to Dr. Nicolosi, Lexapro has not lived up to that claim.

This report can be added to others where significant questions have been raised (e.g., the Bieber study, the Kaye study, the work of Masters and Johnson, the Pattison and Pattison research).

The tactic seems to be to protect adult preditors preying on children; especially if the preditor favors victims of their own gender -- homosexual pedophilia. For instance, Sandusky's victims were boys too young to defend themselves and besides the ACLU and the LGBT do not want their homosexual promoters like Sandusky stopped from recruiting more children into the homosexual lifestyle
