Horse sculptures by Scottish artist come to NYC

NEW YORK (AP) — It's all part of New York City events celebrating all things Scottish.

Two monumental sculptures of horses by Scottish artist Andy Scott will grace the city's Bryant Park for a month.

Titled "The Kelpies," the two 15-foot (4.5-meter)-high steel horse heads are scaled down versions of a 100-foot (30-meter)-tall installation Scott created for a new park in Falkirk, Scotland.

They were installed in Bryant Park Friday and will remain through April 22.

Among the highlights of Tartan Week are the New York Tartan Day Parade along Sixth Avenue on April 5 and a lecture on Scottish Jews.
