‘Hot Girls Wanted,’ ‘Chef’s Table’ Directors ‘Optimistic’ and ‘Hopeful’ for New Netflix Runs

Netflix gave 45 minutes to producers and directors of some of its top documentaries during Tuesday’s Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, touting one of the true standout genres for the streaming giant.

“Chef’s Table” director David Gelb (pictured above, second from the right) told the ballroom of reporters at the Beverly Hilton that he is “optimistic” for a second season of his culinary-centric series. Likewise, “Hot Girls Wanted” director and producer Jill Bauer (pictured, far left) said she was “hopeful” for a Netflix follow-up on her amateur porn doc.

Neither sound like they are done deals at the moment.

Fellow panelist and stand-up comic Tig Notaro (pictured, far right), shared that she is developing a TV show off of Netflix, but offered no additional details.

“Chef’s Table” goes inside the lives and kitchens of six of the world’s most renowned international chefs. Each episode focuses on a single chef and their unique look at their lives, talents and passion from their piece of culinary heaven.

“Hot Girls Wanted” is a film about young women who have been drawn into the sex trade — and how easy it is for a web-savvy generation to end up making porn.

“Tig” has deep access to the comic’s battle with terminal cancer.
