Hottest Trainer 2014: Hot Trainer Contestant #5: Erin Lindsay

Racked Boston

Welcome to Racked Boston's search for the city's hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile eight smoking locals—fitness experts who not only look hot in spandex, but can make you look amazing too. Once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which readers vote for their favorites. Let the games begin!

It takes a lot to stand out as a SoulCycle instructor; the Chestnut Hill studio alone boasts an ample posse of hard-pushing, inspiring teachers. But Erin Lindsay still gets special raves for her high-energy playlists, her encouraging tone, and her all-around sassiness. Maybe it's because she used to be a Rockette?

The Detroit native came to Boston via NYC, where for six years she lived her dream dancing professionally and traveling the country with the Radio City Rockettes. Today she applies that experience to a teaching style that she describes as "versatile, nurturing and extremely music- and rhythm-oriented." (Iggy Azalea and Eminem are two current playlist regulars.) Another reason to love her: Erin customizes each class to the particular students that show up that day, newbies included. "Whether you're a new rider or ride with me five times a week, I feel as though I can adapt to both parties," she says. "And it is a party, people!"

Though she cops to major Motown pride, Erin also loves exploring her new hometown and hitting up concerts and sporting events. And here's something we're guessing most of her regulars don't know: Erin is a jazz aficionado who also plays the alto saxophone. We demand a future in-class performance.
