"House" Actor Hugh Laurie Joins LittleBigPlanet 3

Sony today announced details about the voice cast for November's LittleBigPlanet 3, revealing that HouseM.D. actor Hugh Laurie has joined the mix. He will play the part of a "mischievous" character named Newton.

This is Laurie's first time working on a video game, and he said that's part of the reason why the project caught his eye. "I'm attracted to anything that I can do for the first time," he said in the video you see above.

Returning for LittleBigPlanet 3 in the role of the narrator is Stephen Fry. Notably, Fry and Laurie worked together on the BBC TV comedy show A Bit of Fry & Laurie.

Other celebrity voice actors confirmed for LittleBigPlanet 3 today include Peter Serafinowicz (Shaun of the Dead, Star Wars) and Simon Greenall (Alan Partridge, Wimbledon). Video game and animation voice acting veterans Nolan North (Uncharted) and Tara Strong (The Fairly OddParents) are also working on the game, though their roles were not specified.

Finally, Sony teased that "some additional voices" from past LittleBigPlanet titles will return for LittleBigPlanet 3, though the developer wouldn't say who these will be.

LittleBigPlanet 3 launches on November 18 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. For more on the game, be sure to check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
