    House panel set to question Chu on Solyndra loan

    WASHINGTON (AP) — Energy Secretary Steven Chu is likely to face sharp questions Thursday as the House Energy and Commerce Committee continues investigating a half-billion-dollar federal loan received by solar panel maker Solyndra Inc. The company later declared bankruptcy and laid off its 1,100 workers.

    Besides the initial loan, Chu also may be asked to explain why he approved a restructuring of Solyndra's debt that allowed two private investors to move ahead of taxpayers for repayment in case of default.

    In remarks prepared for delivery Thursday, Chu appeared ready to play defense. He said the Solyndra loan was subject to "proper, rigorous scrutiny and healthy debate" before it was approved in 2009.

    While disappointed in Solyndra's bankruptcy, Chu says the U.S. should continue to support clean energy.

      Obama had full knowlege the Chinese would begin dumping panesl at 1/3 the cost, and Kaiser fully knew if he wasted 400 million of his own dollars he could get a sweetheart deal from Obama.

      This is an infant industry protection operation. When you're subsidizing an infant industry its basically guaranteed that some of the individual firms will go under. Unfortunately, this sort of operation is the only way we have discovered since the onset of globalism that can be used to develop a competitive advantage in a new industry when we didn't previously have one.

        Clinton lied, which led to the investigation. Have you read the White Water deal? All corruption by politicians must be uncovered and prosecuted. I think we need a fourth branch of government where no one is allowed any party affiliation, and its only job would be to investigate corruption without interference from the Executive, Judicial or Legislative branches.

Siga was awarded the final contract & the only co.to submit a bid, they are a union co. Who is on the board of the Co." Andy Stern SEIU & Trumpka , both union leaders who talk or visit the WH nearly everyday. The contract calls for Siga to deliver 1.7 million doses of the drug @ a cost $255 per dose. Guess what? If there were an attack, the gov.'t could draw on $1 billion worth of smallpox vaccine it already owns to inoculate the entire U.S. pop. to treat people exposed to the virus. The vaccine, which costs the gov.t $3 per dose from a non-union co., can reliably prevent death within 4 days of exposure. We’ve got a vaccine that I hope we never have to use — how much more do we need?”

      3. Also the Obama WH will not release records that lawyers are suing GM,Chrysler, & the Fed. Gov't say is even bigger that Watergate of the Auto Bailout records that closed thousands of dealerships, not because they where not making money but because they spoke unfavorably of the automakers & unions. If you donated to unions and Dem.'s your dealership got saved. If you was a multi mfg. dealer and sold any cars make by non-union auto makers, your dealership got closed. Obama says its an on going investigation id the reason they can't release any info. Just like the dems want to cut any spending until after the 2012 election.

      4. Also any and all layoffs at any Co. that got taxpayer dollars where told not to lay off any workers until Nov. 3rd 2010. Why you ask, well its 1 day after the 2010 mid-term elections. Obama still got shell-lacked.

      5. Obama says hes cutting back on travel, yet he spends 3.2 billion on this latest vac. and Holder last week goes on a 5 day Caribbean taxpayer paid vac. Why did we have to wait till we where at 15 trillion in debt to cut back?
