Hewlett-Packard Co. chairman Ray Lane is stepping down. The announcement Thursday comes two weeks after a near ousting by shareholders. Here are some biographical details on Lane.

NAME: RAYMOND J. LANE

TITLE: Chairman, Hewlett-Packard Co. (stepping down).

CAREER: Served as executive chairman since September 2011. Was non-executive chairman before that, since November 2010. Served as managing partner of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a private equity firm, since 2000. Previously president and chief operating officer of Oracle Corp.; senior partner of Booz Allen Hamilton, a consulting company; and a division vice president with Electronic Data Systems Corp., which HP later bought.
