HTC becomes first to welcome Jelly Bean, confirms One X and One S updates in the works

HTC July sales tumble 45% as One series sputters

HTC (TPE:2498) and carrier partner Telstra have confirmed that HTC is currently working to bring Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates to its One X and One S smartphones. Google’s (GOOG) own Nexus 7 tablet and Galaxy Nexus smartphone are currently the only devices to run the latest version of the Android operating system; the company’s vendor partners have remained silent on the matter as they continue efforts to bring the previous version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, to their devices. According to Telstra’s website, however, the HTC One XL — the international version of HTC’s One X — and HTC One S are both listed as having Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates in the works. Telstra does not provide an estimated delivery date for either update.
