HTC insists Apple is in the wrong

HTC on Wednesday evening responded to a new complaint filed by Apple that looks to ban all new HTC smartphones and tablets from being imported and sold in the United States. 29 devices in total were named in Apple’s new complaint filed on Wednesday with with International Trade Commission, relating to U.S. Patent No. 5,946,647 covering a “system and method for performing an action on a structure in computer-generated data.” According to HTC, however, its new devices do not infringe on the Apple patent in question. ”The U.S. Customs office has reviewed and approved HTC devices for import into the U.S., as they are in compliance with the ITC’s ruling,” HTC told Reuters in response to a question about the new filing, implying that the rest of the devices covered in Apple’s latest complaint are in compliance with the ITC ruling as well.
