    Intelex Named One of Canada’s 50 Best Small and Medium Employers

    Canadian software pioneer included in exclusive list of best employers in PROFIT magazine

    Toronto, ON (PRWEB) February 08, 2012

    Intelex Technologies, a rapidly growing software company headquartered in Toronto, today announced it has been included in PROFIT magazine’s ranking of Canada’s 50 best small and medium employers. Intelex is one of only 10 Toronto businesses included in the ranking, which was facilitated by Queen’s School of Business and AON Hewitt, an international HR consulting firm.

    The news follows a cascade of achievements for the highly successful software company in the past few months. In the fall Intelex was included in Deloitte’s list of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America for the third straight year. And in November, the company ranked as one of the Greater Toronto Area’s top employers in reports published in The Globe and Mail and The Toronto Star, Canada’s two largest newspapers.

    “To win an exclusive national award like this is a gratifying acknowledgment of our relentless focus on creating a progressive work environment that prioritizes the needs of our greatest asset – our people,” says Mark Jaine, Intelex president and CEO. “Our rapid growth over the past decade is directly related to our ability to recruit and retain top talent from across North America and internationally, which is critical to our ability to serve a global list of Fortune 500 companies.”

    A key metric in the study related to employee engagement which was calculated through a confidential, companywide survey all participant organizations had to complete. The average engagement score for this year’s winners was 83 per cent, while other participants in the study had an average score of 61 per cent.

    “Achieving high engagement isn’t easy at the best of times,” notes Einar Westerlund, director of project development at the Queen’s Centre for Business. “It’s even more challenging in an improving economy when the demand for workers increases and employees have more options. Unless employers have been able to gain a strong level of commitment from their workforce, they will see employee turnover begin to increase.”
