    IntelliChief Document Management Solution Automates Accounts Payable for Bergquist, Inc.

    Bergquist implements IntelliChief to eliminate paper and improve operational efficiency

    IntelliChief LLC, the leading provider of document management and document imaging solutions for the IBM i (System i, iSeries, AS/400), today announced that Bergquist, Inc. has implemented IntelliChief as their document management solution provider.

    Shortly after implementation of the solution, Bergquist was able to realize immediate improvements to their accounts payable processes. “In the first month we've been live with our IntelliChief implementation, we've already quickly seen great results and been able to send more and more file cabinets out the door -- never to return!,” said Shawn Kaelber, Bergquist, Inc.     For nearly 50 years as a distributor of equipment to the propane industry, Bergquist continues to supply both the equipment and technical assistance for their customers. They offer products and services that will help improve plant efficiency, increase appliance sales, and boost profitability. With three area distribution centers that cover more than 60,000 square feet, and stock more than 12,000 propane related items, Bergquist’s extensive inventory gives them the ability to ship 98% of their orders the very same day they're received.

    Bergquist has realized many improvements resulting from their installation of IntelliChief. Some of the biggest advantages include reduced paperwork and the ability to provide immediate access to all imaged documents. They have also experienced process efficiencies with IntelliChief by eliminating misfiled and lost documents. With IntelliChief, they have enabled users to electronically forward documents for review and approval without the burdens associated with manual handling of paper.

    “Bergquist has crafted themselves into a leading equipment distributor to the propane industry, so to keep pace with their growth, it is crucial to streamline their AP process in order to allow for greater control over payables and operate more efficiently,” said Michael R.     The initial IntelliChief implementation at Bergquist includes creating, capturing, processing, approving, and storing documents in their Accounts Payable process. As Bergquist has found success with Purchase-to-Pay, they intend to leverage IntelliChief for the automation of their Order-to-Cash next.
