‘The Interview’ Available In Canada On Sony Site Powered By Kernel

The Sony Pictures site dedicated to streaming its political comedy The Interview is now up and running in Canada, about 48 hours after the pic was made available to rent on VOD in the U.S. The movie is also available digitally at YouTube Movies, Google Play and Xbox Live, but until just now those were the only places the pic could be purchased in the Great White North.

A redirect on the Canadian site theinterview-movie.com sends users to the U.S. page. The pic costs CAN$6.99 for a 48-hour rental and is available in 1080P HD. The stand-alone Sony site is powered by a previously little known online video company called Kernel.

On Christmas Eve, Seth Rogen, who co-stars, co-wrote and co-directed The Interview – which was shot in his birthplace of Vancouver, BC – said the movie was available in Canada after delays earlier in the day.
